A Chinese farmer has decided to make pears in the shape of babies.

Fair enough. You’ve got to love the commitment.

“Little Planets”

July 1st, 2009

Been creating a few “Little Planets” from 360 degree panoramas. The technique is fairly simple. Hopefully we’ll create and post one based on the views from our office soon. Future developments include creating a moving image version using HD video cameras  syncronised and stitched together.

The Beatles Rock Band

June 12th, 2009

beatles

The biggest band ever + the biggest music game = sure fire money machine.

The incredibly popular Rock Band console game is getting a Beatles specific version. Quite interesting on its own, but check out the cinematic trailer, it is a wonderful piece of animation and looks like it was an absolute riot to work on.

Great job by Passion Pictures and Pete Candeland.

Camera + Binoculars =

April 23rd, 2009

I was out on the balcony trying to get some nice shots of another beautiful day yesterday and tried a different technique. I wanted to see what it would be like taking a photo using binoculars and these are the results. I love how one of them almost look like a planet.

Danny MacAskill

April 22nd, 2009

Reading an article in the Metro this morning  about this guy and having checked out the footage I had to share it.

Here is a bit about the clip…

Filmed over the period of a few months in and around Edinburgh by Dave Sowerby, this video of Inspired Bicycles team rider Danny MacAskill features probably the best collection of street/street trials riding ever seen. There’s some huge riding, but also some of the most technically difficult and imaginative lines you will ever see. Without a doubt, this video pushes the envelope of what is perceived as possible on a trials bike.

New sunnies

sunnies

It was my birthday the other week there and I just got through my surprise pressie from my wife at the weekend there. An amaizing pair of 23 karat gold plated Adidas Original sunglasses. Not even out in the UK yet but with a little help from an insider my wife was able to purchase a pair for me just in time for the sunny weather.

+1 Magazine Issue 11

Thought I’d share the amaizing pic used for the front cover of this months plus 1 magazine. The image is of Jeff Stewart  (yup thats right PC Reg Hollis in the ITV drama The Bill)  who is an actor/model/percussionist, not your most conventional mainstream model but I loving his new look.

Tweenbots

April 14th, 2009

tweenbot

I found this great site this morning about a social experiment that happened in New York. Kacie Kinzer from Tisch ITP came up with these amazing little robots, aiming to get from the north to the south of the hazardous NYC. The Tweenbots can only move in one direction though, so are directly reliant on the public to put them on the right path.

I can’t help but wonder how long something like this would last in one of our cities here.
