How your business can use an explainer video
It’s no secret that video is far more engaging than the written word, but have you considered an explainer video for your business communications? According to research, the average viewer remembers 95% of a message when it is viewed in a video, compared to only 10% when it’s simply read.
If you have a message that you want to convey to your audience that would usually be done through the written word, why not consider using an explainer video instead? An explainer video is an animated short video that explains an idea or message in a straightforward, engaging and compelling way by using sharply written copy and appealing visuals that will hold the attention of your audience.
Usually used to communicate a message that would otherwise be lost in a blog or article, by adding animation or graphic design, your message immediately becomes more palatable and engaging. Whether it’s for internal or external communications, an explainer video can be used to communicate a multitude of messages and ideas, for a variety of reasons.
So, how can your business use an explainer video?
One use of explainer videos is in your company’s internal communications. Whether it’s to share an internal company update, details of a new merger at an event or vital information on your company’s intranet, explainer videos can be used to get your message across quickly and in a way that won’t bore your employees.

For example, if your organisation provides an online portal for customers, you can use a short explainer video to show exactly how users can use your online service. Step-by-step instructions can be delivered in a visually appealing way.
RELAYING FACTS & FIGURES
Got a company update to give customers, or results of your economic impact? An explainer video is perfect for facts and figures. Your video can include text only, with well-designed graphics in company colours, or you can add another dimension by using animation.
We worked with Cyrenians to deliver a video to highlight people’s unrealistic perceptions of homelessness in Scotland and turn those perceptions on their head, by delivering uncomfortable facts to encourage the realisation that homelessness could affect anyone.

However you choose to use explainer videos in your business, ensure they are engaging, on-brand and short. Keep your audience interested and they will take away your key points with ease. There are some great online tools that you can use to create explainer videos, but if you want to get it right, we recommend working with the professionals.
